The 2022 World Cup in Qatar begins on 21 November as 32 teams aim to reach the final and become world champions on 18 December.

Joining host nation Qatar at the tournament will be 31 other countries that have earned a ticket to the big dance through regional qualifying matches. It was predetermined how many nations qualified from each region:

  • Asia (AFC): 4 (plus 1 playoff qualifier)
  • Europe (UEFA): 13
  • North/Central America & Caribbean (CONCACAF): 3 (plus 1 playoff qualifier)
  • Oceania (OFC): 1 playoff qualifier

Who qualified for FIFA 2022 World Cup?

1. Qatar

 

As known, the host country for the World Cup automatically participates in the competition without going through any qualification process. So Qatar are the first known participant for the World Cup. They will take part in football’s biggest tournament for the first time in their history. Qatar are in the Group A and will be waiting to learn their upcoming opponents once the qualification is over.

 

2. Germany

 

The four-time World Cup champions are the second to qualify for Qatar 2022, as they are leaders in their Europe qualification group (Group J) with 27 points, with the second-placed North Macedonia having only 18. Germany won 8 out of the 7 qualifiers although they still have to face Armenia in their last qualifier of Qatar 2022. But the results really wouldn’t damage Hansi Flick’s side, as they will already prepare for the next year’s World Cup.

 

3. Denmark

 

Denmark are third known participant for the 2022 World Cup, as they have 24 points out of possible 27 in their group (Group F), having won all the qualifiers. They will take part in the competition for the 5th time in their history, with their best result coming in 1998, when they reached to the World Cup quarter-finals. After reaching to the Euro 2020 semi-finals this summer, chances and hopes are big for Denmark for Qatar 2022.

 

4. Brazil

 

Brazil become the first South American team to qualify for the Qatar 2022 On March 30th they beat Bolivia 0-4, gaining 45 points in the South American standings, without losing a single game. The Canarinho’s only have 2 draws against Columbia and Ecuador. Brazil have won the World Cup record-breaking five times, and are among the favourites to win Qatar 2022 as well.

 

5. France

 

France became the latest team to qualify for the World Cup 2022. They topped Group D with 18 points.

 

6. Belgium

 

Belgium qualified for the World Cup 2022 after topping Group E with 20 points. The Red Devils celebrated 6 wins and played 2 draw in 8 games.

 

7. Croatia

 

Croatia celebrated a 1-0 victory over Russia and qualifiers for WC2022. They are leading Group H with 23 points. Croatia has 7 wins, 2 draws and one defeat in 10 games.

 

8. Spain

 

Spain qualified for World Cup 2022 after celebrating a 1-0 victory over Sweden on November 14. Luis Enrique’s side top Group B with 19 points. They have 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat.

 

9. Serbia

 

Serbia stunned Portugal and celebrated a 2-1 victory and booked their place in the World Cup 2022. Serbia needed a win against Portugal to qualify and the goals from Dusan Tadic and Aleksandar Mitrovic helped them to qualify. They top Group A with 20 points.

 

10. England

 

England qualified for the World Cup 2022 after celebrating a huge 10-0 victory over San Marino on November 15. The Three Lions topped Group I with 26 points.

 

11. Switzerland

 

Switzerland have qualified for the World Cup 2022 after celebrating a 4-0 victory over Bulgaria. They beat Italy in Group C and top the group with 18 points, while Italy finished second with 16 points after playing a goalless draw with Northern Ireland.

 

12. The Netherlands

 

The Netherlands qualified for the World Cup 2022 after celebrating a 2-0 victory over Norway. They top Group G with 23 points. Louis Van Gaal’s side have scored 33 goals and conceded 8.

 

13. Argentina

 

The Copa America winners have qualified for World Cup 2022 after coming second in the CONMEBOL qualifiers table. Argentina currently have 39 points.

 

14. Iran

 

Iran have qualified for World Cup 2022 after celebrating a 1-0 victory over Iraq on January 27. Iran are currently first in their group table with 25 points.

 

15. South Korea

 

South Korea have qualified for World Cup 2022 following their 2-0 victory over Syria in the World Cup Qualifiers. South Korea are currently second in their group table with 23 points. Saudi Arabia, Japan, Ecuador, Uruguay, Canada, Ghana, Senegal, Portugal, Poland Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon, USA, Mexico and Wales have also qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022.
