Recently, UEFA released an official announcement confirming that the maximum squad size for this year's European Championship will be increased to 26 people. According to the announcement, all participating teams in the European Championship must submit their roster before June 7th, with a minimum of 23 players and a maximum of 26 players on the list. However, the maximum number of people on the list of 26 is not a mandatory standard.

Due to factors such as the pandemic, UEFA increased the maximum number of participating teams to 26 at the 2020 European Championship held in 2021. In the following 2022 Qatar World Cup, FIFA also used this standard.
